The bridge between technical people and creative expression is a comfortable place for me. Often, I have been the one asked to take on the writing tasks for my technical co-workers. My degrees are in General Engineering Design (Bachelors from Univ. of Illinois) and Mechanical Engineering (Masters from Berkeley). This background gives me a vocabulary and credibility when dealing with technical people on creative projects.
Volunteering for several years as a judge for the Society for Technical Communication has given me a new appreciation about what is possible when technical and creative people come together.
